henever we find a unique idea for weddings — especially handmade details — we can’t help but share them. Immediately. For instance, we spotted these paper doll place cards over at The First Snow, maker of beautiful hand-painted illustrations (remember these?) And, suffice it to say, these sweet little paper doll place cards are one […]
What’s black and white with stripes and gold metallic all over? This amazing cake. I swear, wedding cakes have been taken to an entirely new level over at Wild Orchid Baking, where we spotted this brimming-with-beauty three tiered cake. If you’re looking for a black and white and gold wedding cake, we found one that looks too beautiful to eat. It has black and white stripes on the bottom, an entirely gold metallic middle, and a black and metallic polka dotted top. The flowers are the crowning touch! And, to not distract from its design, it is placed on a white cake pedestal. So chic!
Black and White and Gold Wedding Cake

Hi, loves! Emma here! Are you wondering how to plan a themed wedding from start to finish? Are you newly engaged and have no idea which theme is best for you? Or, perhaps you are deep in the thick of planning and need some fresh inspiration? This is the ultimate themed wedding book for you! It is with great excitement that I announce the launch of my new book, “The Inspired Wedding“, in bookstores nationwide! This book has been a labor of love and I’ve poured my whole heart into it. It has been a joy to work on: I’ve had the privilege to work with the best publishing company, Sellers Publishing, Inc., along with top wedding photographers and handmade wedding vendors in the industry. I have carefully chosen each of the seven themes outlined in the book, filling each with eye candy — you’ll find fresh ideas for your ceremony and reception, what to wear, what type of invitations to send, favor ideas for your guests, unique wedding venues, gorgeous photography, and handmade items for every theme. Read on to find out more…
How to Plan a Themed Wedding
The Inspired Wedding is an idea book. It includes seven wonderful chapters including Romantically Vintage, Farmhouse Rustic, Beach Bliss, Urban Chic, Free Spirit, Traditional, and Boho Style. In the introduction, I share some reasons why picking the wedding theme will help bring your perfect day to fruition, along with ‘Good Things to Know’ with essentials every bride should know. With the turn of each page, you’ll be taken away to the breathtaking venues, dazzled by the elegant wedding gowns and accessories, energized to decorate your ceremony and reception with personal touches, and exhilarated to finally pick the perfect wedding theme for you and run with it.

You’ll learn how to plan a themed wedding from start to finish. In each chapter, I include what the wedding theme entails, explain how certain decorations and invitations work best for that particular style, and share my favorite ideas on the wedding ceremony (including details such as traditions, venue ideas, ceremony programs, etc.); the attire; the flowers; the reception (the venue, escort cards, table numbers, signage, entertainment, etc) and more. If you are planning a themed wedding, this is the ultimate guide for you.
I’m honored to have the privilege to share my ideas in this wonderful book, officially out in bookstores today. You can find it at your local Barnes & Noble, Books A Million, or independent bookstores in your area. Some locations have the book today; others are currently accepting pre-order for books arriving next week. You can also find the book online at multiple retailers including Amazon.com. One of the easiest projects to DIY? Candy mason jar favors! Fill a half-pint mason jar (or, I think these are pretty neat, too) with your favorite candy and add a simple ‘thank you’ tag. This couple apparently has good taste, too: they chose full-size Reese’s (my fave) and Kit-Kat bars, among other delectable treats. YUM. Talk about a favor that won’t be left on tables afterward.
When it comes to wedding favors — especially DIY wedding favors — start early. No one wants to be tying one-hundred thank you tags to mason jars at 1am two nights before the wedding. Also, ask for help: order pizzas and ask the bridesmaids over to assist! Oh, and order extra Reese’s, because, you know, those seem to disappear… at least whenever I’m around…
Rustic brides: take note! If you’re looking for easy, do-it-yourself rustic wedding centerpieces with flowers and table numbers, we’ve found ‘em! Check out these unique wedding centerpieces we spotted over at Country Barn Babe. Aren’t they lovely?
Rustic Table Number Centerpieces
It’s easy: if you are using a floral wedding centerpiece, you can incorporate these wood rustic numbers right into them with ease.
Jennifer and Matt’s Manor House engagement session was beautiful! This fun and flirtatious couple’s engagement photos were taken at The Manor House at Prophecy Creek in Ambler, Pennsylvania. The location is known for its breathtaking scenery and gorgeous weddings. Jennifer and Matt were captured by Scott from Scott Smith Photography. Check out this amazing couple after the click…
Manor House Engagement
Scott tells us, “I met up with this super cool couple, Jennifer and Matt, at the Manor House at Prophecy Creek for their engagement session. They were both really fun to be around and the session went off without a hitch! The weather cooperated and the rain stayed away from us during our session even though it rained a little that same morning. Jennifer and Matt are getting married at the Manor House at Prophecy Creek as well. It was great to explore the grounds and to see where we could potentially go for photos on the day of their wedding. We ended up getting some awesome shots during the session and the three of us had a great time!”
